The United Way of Northeast Missouri (UWNEMO) sponsored a Charity Trivia Night on April 8th at the Moose Lodge here in Kirksville which ended up raising $4,350 for the United Way.
Winners of the Trivia Night Contest was team “Lucky Willows.” Besides a cash prize for 1st place they also won the “Lamp of Wisdom” Trophy and Trey Gibson won the 50/50 drawing..
“We are ecstatic that we had 18 teams of 8 people turn out to play in our 1st Annual Trivia Night,” said Luke Callaghan, UW Board Member and Trivia Contest Coordinator. “We plan to make this an annual event,” he added. All monies will go to the eleven local agencies who are funded by the United Way of Northeast Missouri. Agencies of the United Way include Adair County 4H Council, Adair County Family YMCA, Boy Scouts of America/Great Rivers Council, Community Opportunities/Sheltered Workshop, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri, Hospice of Northeast Missouri, KIRK-TRAN, Macon Diversified Industries, NEMO Senior Citizens Services, Inc., RSVP/Senior Adult Services, and the Salvation Army.
